Description:
The evening sky was, "on fire" due to the almost full Moon than hung
over-head like a giant flood light. In fact observors on site were
seen reading books and sky charts by the bright Moon beam that seemed
to bath the ground we stood on.
M41 was invisible to the naked eye and almost invisible in my 10X50
bino's. I was surpised to see this beautiful cluster in the 40X
eyepiece with 60 or 70 of its stars stretched out filling my FOV
floating in an almost dark sky. In the center of the cluster two
stars appeared to be red or gold in color with the brightest one
seeming to be redder than the dimmer star.
This cluster was worth tracking and observing on such a poor night of seeing.
