Description:
Lacking a guide star, I had to use M81/M82 to start star hopping. Oh was I
tempted to stay at M81/M82; they looked so juicy ;-). Anyway, this mag 10.1
galaxy was easily located at 22x, much more tiny than NGC 2403! At 73x, it
looked like it got trapped inside a triangular belly of the Giraffe
which are made up of the stars: SAO 6692, SAO 6656, SAO 6687. Stellar
core winking in and out. Got brighter at 110x with the triangular
belly just fitting the FOV. Retained brightness at 146x but must
move the glaringly bright stars SAO 6692/6656 out of the FOV! 220x
still showed a bright stellar core with the outer portion much dimmer,
perhaps now being digested by the belly of the giraffe ;-).
