Description:
These objects were observed on the first night using my new 17.5" Dob newtonian.
At lowest power (69x) using a 2" 32mm Konig eyepiece M35 completely filled the eyepiece field. What I was really intersted in was seeing how NGC2158 looked with the new scope, and I was not disappointed. Just visible at low power approximately thirty to fifty stars were visible ranging from magnitude 13 to 15 using a 9.7 mm plossl(229x). This was impressive to me due to the amount of light pollution. Ususally this cluster (2158) is essentially invisible in my 250mm f/4.5 newtonian reflector.
