Constellation: Com
Data: mag -- size --
Position: RA --:-- DEC --:--
Description:
NGC4712: Galaxy; 12.8v mag; 2.4' x 0.9'SZ; RA:12:49.6, DEC:+25:27
120X-NGC4712 is a faint galaxy except for the elongated core which is detectable
with direct vision, but the halo requires averted vision. Also with averted
vision there is a suspected dim star just North of the core. Other detail not
resolved.

NGC4725: Galaxy; 9.4v mag; 12.0' x 9.0'SZ; RA:12:50.5, DEC:+25:29
120X-NGC4725 has a moderately bright halo. There is a bright arc across the
Southern and Northern ends. The Southern Arc is symetrical and with some
brighter knots showing. The Northern arc also shows some bright knots, but
it;'s apperance is pointed. The core may be a bar, but it's dim and illdefined.
The halo is relatively dim except for the arc at the N & S ends. There is a
faint glow outside of what appears to be the halo, but averted vision is
required as well as black shroud.

NGC4747: Galaxy; 12.4v mag; 3.5' x 1.5'SZ; RA:12:51.8, DEC:+25:46
120x-NGC4747 is a dim streak lying NNE-SSW with a linear core consisting of 4
or more tiney knots. The halo seems truncated South of the core. Averted and
direct vision, blinking back and forth helps bring up the detail, but it is
tiring to the eyes and mind. A dark shroud is a must even with good dark skies.
