Description:
120X-NGC5128, known as Centaurus 'A' is generally round in shape divided by a
wide obscuring lane. The obscuring lane is divided into a northern and a
southern band. The bulge to the north is brighter than the southern bulge.
There are 2 bright stars superimposed on the galaxy, one in the eastern side
side of the dust lane and the other in the southern bulge.
Ngc5128 appears considerably dimmer than the catalog brightness of 6.8v mag.
probably due to atmospheric extenction because of the low altitude of about 15*
