Description:
This is a breath taking globular cluster. I first located it in my 10X50 binoculars appearing to be a noticable grey smudge. With my 13mm eyepiece the sky around it darkened slightly making the stars seem a little brighter. At this power many stars were resolved into tiny flecks of light looking like tiny grains of salt. This would indeed be a great object in a truely dark sky under perfect viewing conditions.
