Description:
Also known as NGC 650/651 due to its double lobed appearance. The
nebula is pinched and faintest in the middle; the Southern lobe is
considerably brighter, somewhat smaller and more defined than the Northern lobe. A tiny "dark lane" separates the S lobe from the faint middle section. The N lobe is more diffuse, somewhat mottled and fades gradually into the background sky. The OIII filter with averted vision just starts to show the outer loop to the NW and on the threshold of vision to the SE.
