Description:
This was harder to find than expected. I knew the basic position from my map,
but expected a little brighter object to observe. The reports I read mentioned
a triangle of stars surrounded by nebulosity. Sounds easy! Well, it wasnt
quite that easy. I found it just east of the Christmas tree open cluster. It
appeared to be a single star with some nebulosity surrounding it at 59x. Once
I increased the magnification up to 157 power did it show the triangle of stars
within the nebulosity. And it took some serious observing.........to see that!
At 314x, the 3 stars were more obvious, but the breese and average seeing made
that a difficult observation. In summary, It was a lot smaller and dimmer than
was expected.
