Constellation: Cassiopiea
Data: mag 7.0 size 35'
Position: RA 0:52 DEC 56:37
Description:
The cluster itself is nothing to write home about, the nebulosity (LBN 616)
is what makes this an interesting object. A very pronounced dark lane
running E-W bisects the nebulosity producing the "mouth" of Pacman.
The nebulosity to the north is larger and brighter than the south - 30' x 20'
vs. 10' x 10'. The OIII filter produces a darker background and makes the
dark lane stand out more, but the nebulosity is brighter and more detailed
with the UHC.
