Description:
It was barely detectable low in the light dome. There were 2 nearby stars
in the field of view, one dimmer star at 6 o’clock and one brighter star at
4 o’clock. The 4 o’clock star looked like it might be a double star, but
not clearly resolved at 118x. I should have tried higher magnification
while observing, but didn’t think about it. M72 was a dim gray ball
barely detectable at 59x, but became more evident at 118x. Averted vision
and shaking the scope easily brought this globular clearly into view. No
stars in this faint globular were resolved with its position in the light dome.
