Description:
At first glance, this reminded me of a smaller M82. Nice edge on galaxy
with dark dust features noted in the core similar to that of the cigar
galaxy, only M108 is smaller and fainter. I tried to view this in my mag
3.8 skies in my back yard only to get a negative report. I have been told
it makes a nice pairing with the Owl nebula, but I was not able to fit it
into the same FOV with my 26mm eyepiece. A wide field eyepiece
definitely necessary to accomplish that. I had best results viewing this
at 60x and 120x.
