Description:
At 145x (12.5mm Ultima, 21' true field) M81 was quite large, bright, and 
elongated 7'x4' aligned north/south.  A bright, concentrated core is surrounded
by an even glow which fades evenly and and gradually to the edge.  Hints of a
dark lane were occaisionally visible in the southwest to west part of the 
galaxy.
