Description:
A nice, big, fat edge-on. Very similar to NGC 4100 and some others between
here and M109. There seem to be a number of them like this, of this character,
in this area. It's about 4' in length, brighter in the central area, seems to
fade out a little faster toward the N. Oriented N-S, slightly NNE-SSW tilt,
with the S arm perhaps brighter. I can see some bright spots in the center
that flicker in and out in my vision. It has an impression of 'linearness'
longitudinally, whether it's a bright stripe down the middle or something, not
just a foggy look to it. Tantalizingly close to showing more detail. A bit of
mottling in the central bulge area, which really is just a little fatter and
brighter than the rest.
