Description:
First impression in 50x is that it's quite large- a fat oval, oriented NE-SW.
Bright core in there. In 100x, gives the impression of a complex, dappled,
bumpy structure. A brighter core that doesn't appear to be stellar. Almost,
though. There's a 12 mag star off to the NNW of the nucleus. A few stars also
in the foreground of the galaxy, one out to the SW that's dimmer- perhaps a knot of material. Both of those an arcminute or so out from the nucleus. A
prominent star on the NE arm about 2/3 to the visible edge of the galaxy. On
the other side of the core- the SW side- there appears to be a bit of a drop-
off in brightness between the core and that bright star (about 8th mag?)
that's perhaps about 4' distant. Lots of little knots and condensations in
that core area- a very bumpy texture.
