Seeing: 6 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>

Instrument: 15 inch Obsession f4,5
Magnification: 342x
Filter(s): none
Object(s): M 97
Category: Planetary nebula.
Class:
Constellation: UMa
Data: mag 9,9v size 3,2 '
Position: RA : DEC :
Description:
At 342x without a filter M97 appeared surprisingly faint. The edge of the
Planetary gradually fades away. The 2 dark "eyes" are visible but, only with
averted vision. North of the center seems to be a slightly brighter knot that
pops into view when observed with averted vision.
During seconds of better seeing the central star appears for a fraction of a second. I could definitely see it but, it is extremely faint (<15mag) and difficult.
I could also catch 3 faint stars (14-15 mag) just north of M97. The 12,5mag
star at the southern edge is easy and bright.
