Data: mag 11.5v size 54.0" x 20.0"
Position: RA 07:41.9 DEC -18:12.5
Description:
134X-NGC2440 appears as a blue-green tiny spot, not quite star like. It blinks
strongly with the O-III filter. Note the double stream of stars across the
North.

254X-NGC2440 appears as an oval with fairly well defined edge, with noticably
bright center, but without a center star.

(Using Pierre Faucher's 61CM; f:4.5 StarMaster, NGC2440 appears much the same
as with the 30CM, f:10 SCT with the addition of some very faint arcs outward
from the minor axis and a very tiny dark speck near the center and the disc
fleetingly seems mottled.)

My observation sketch and notes of NGC2440 from 04062002/0434ut made at Clark
Creek, NC (35.5N) with my 56CM;f:4.1 StarMaster seems slightly superior even
with poorer seeing, though the transparency and darkness was better.
