120X-NGC6596 appears as a small/scattered cluster, roughly forming 2 loops of stars, a northern and southern loop. The Northern loop's center is devoid of stars and there appears to be an irregular dark cloud running East. There are 17 relatively bright stars an additional 14-20 intermediately bright and 80-100 very faint stars in the FOV. The cluster is fairly easy to differentiate from the background.
