Description:
Very impressive group of 5 galaxies in a field of only 10’! All 5 galaxies fit
into the FOV of my 5mm Nagler at 342x.The western edge of the field is
illuminated by a brilliant 6,5mag star.
NGC5353: 11mag, brightest member of the group. Appears as a 2x1’ oval with a
bright non-stellar core.
NGC5354: 11,4mag, fairly bright round disk of 1’ diameter with a faint core.
Located 1’ N of 5353.
NGC5350: 11,3mag, faint slightly oval glow of 2’ diameter centered by a little
brighter core. 4’ N of 5354.
NGC5355 and 5358: 13,1 and 13,6mag. Both galaxies appear as very faint oval
glows. 5355 does show a very faint nucleus with averted vision. 5358 is without
any detail. NGC5358 lies 6’ E of bright 5353 and NGC5355 some 5’ NE of 5353.
