Object(s): NGC 6717 (Palomar 9)
Category: Globular cluster.
Class:
Constellation: Sgr
Data: mag 8.4 size 5.4
Position: RA 18:55:06 DEC -22:42:06
Description:
This one is neat! Just outside a bright star (55 Sgr, 5.8m). Visually, it's a
puff beside the star and /appears/ to be illuminated by it (which of course it
isn't), since it's brighter on the side facing the star.

Although Megastar shows it to overlap 55 Sgr, I saw no indication of this in
the eyepiece. Also known as Palomar 9.
