Description:
Strange huge edge-on galaxy that quite not matches any other object I
know. NGC 4945 appears as a 15x4' streak of fairly faint light that
extends roughly NE-SW. No core or central bar are visible. 4945 looks
more like a ghostly, faint cloud. At 342x I several stars are visible
within the glow of this huge galaxy. The galaxy does also show
mottled structure at high magnification.
