Site classification: Suburban
Sky darkness: 6 <Bortle Scale (9 worst)>

Moon presence: Major - gibbous or near object
Instrument: Bresser 4.8 inch refractor
Magnification: X80
Filter(s):
Object(s): Theta Tauri (77 & 78) 85,81,80,84,75
Category: Asterism.
Class: A7, KO
Constellation: Taurus
Data: mag size
Position: RA c. 4:c. 25 DEC +15:
Description:
Fine to see the symmetrical shape formed by Theta Tauri and neighbors 80 and 81 and another pair to NW in a one degree field at this power. In spite of the Moon nearby (near Mars) I get a good view of these 3-6 magnitude stars. There is no background "noise" to disturb the image. (First clear night in nearly a month here as the North Atlantic Oscillation has strengthened, fouling the weather with tightly packed clouds in a typical late autumn manner here.)
