Description:
A very faint, uniform, elongated oval halo aligned NE-SW.  It shows no
detectable brightening toward the core.  Steadily visible with averted
vision at 128x, it began to fade into the background at 257x.  Located
10' NE of 4th magnitude Nu Eridani and observed by keeping the star just
out of the field.  NGC1625, located 10' SE of NGC1622, could be seen ~1/2
the time as a very faint, uniform, circular nebulous patch with no detectable
central brightening.  NGC1618, located 10' NW of NGC1622, could not be seen.
