Category: External galaxy.
Class: S0
Constellation: Vir
Data: mag 9.9 size 5.1 x 2.6
Position: RA 12:52 DEC -01:12
Description:
In Virgo, at ~ 2 ¾ ° E of Spica (Alpha Vir). In spite of his low brightness (magv = 9,9), I could observe this lenticular galaxy in the first seconds of observation. I had doubts thereafter, which led me to double the time of observation for this object. While consulting my Herald-Bobroff Astro-Atlas, I could confirm, without any doubt, observation of this galaxy. Dimensions are easy to see at 9x, although the object is not very bright. I perceive as a lengthening of the galaxy in an axis E-W, in conformity with DSS image, viewed after this observation. The object does not show any bright center, light seems distributed well on all the surface of NGC 4753.
