Site classification: Rural
Sky darkness: 6.5 <Limiting magnitude>
Seeing: 6 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>
Moon presence: None - moon not in sky
Instrument: 10.1" f/4.5 Newtonian reflector
Magnification: 77x, 128x, 193x, 257x
Filter(s): None
Object(s): NGC 6956
Category: External galaxy.
Class:
Constellation: Del
Data: mag 12.3 size 1.0' X 1.0'
Position: RA 20:44 DEC +12:31
Description:
A uniform round halo which shows no detectable brightening toward the core.
While the Digital Sky Survey shows a stellar core, no trace of this structure
was visible. A 12th magnitude field star lies on the E. edge and the glare
of this star makes observation difficult. The galaxy forms a triangle with
2 pairs of 8th magnitude field stars, both aligned N-S, which are separated
by ~40' and located on an E-W line ~12' to the N..
