Description:
At 342 the galaxy shows a very bright condensed core with a still very bright
central bulge of about 1’ diameter (slightly elongated E-W). That core is
surrounded by a mottled halo that shows signs of a spiral pattern particularly in
the W-part of the disk. M94 has a very high surface brightness. At lower
magnifications it resembles a bright head and coma of a comet.
