(meteorobs) Aug 8 Observations

-- [ From: Robert Lunsford * EMC.Ver #2.10P ] --

I managed to watch for 6 hours this morning. I counted a total of 102
meteors, 39 which were Perseids. The Perseids have not quite caught up
to the sporadic rate.
The sky seemed turbulent as even 2nd and 3rd magnitude stars were
twinkling. It did not seem as transparent as it should have either.
Perhaps this was a layer of glaze that coated my sleep-starved eyes.
Anyway, It was not a bad way to start my 1996 Perseid sessions.
Hopefully the sky will remain clear for the next 7 nights.
