(meteorobs) MajorDomo 101

Dear Meteorites,

Here is information about subscribing to and unsubscribing from meteorobs and
meteorobs-digest, along with information about how to access the meteorobs and
meteorobs-digest databases. This entire message was adapted (stolen) directly
from a similar message written by Paul Rybski for the ASTRO mailing list.

Enjoy!

Meteorobs is operated by Brent Chapman's "Majordomo" mailing list manager,
version 1.93. This mailing list server allows users to automatically subscribe
and unsubscribe from mailing lists by sending "command" emails, as well as
providing other "remote" functionality useful to mailing list subscribers.

Please use the following instructions to ask Majordomo to do things for you:

1. Obtaining a subscription to meteorobs:

      Send the two-word command:
          subscribe meteorobs
      to the email address:
          majordomo@latradedot com

2. Obtaining a subscription to meteorobs-digest:

      Send the two-word command:
          subscribe meteorobs-digest
      to the email address:
          majordomo@latradedot com

3. Canceling a subscription to meteorobs:

      Send the two-word command:
          unsubscribe meteorobs
      to the email address:
          majordomo@latradedot com

4. Canceling a subscription to meteorobs-digest:

      Send the two-word command:
          unsubscribe meteorobs-digest
      to the email address:
          majordomo@latradedot com

5. Stopping meteorobs or meteorobs-digest mail while you are temporarily away
      from your mail server:

Sadly, Majordomo does not have a NOMAIL option. When you must
temporarily suspend receipt of meteorobs or meteorobs-digest mail, you
must unsubscribe as described in #2 or #4, respectively. When you wish
to continue receiving meteorobs or meteorobs-digest mail, you must
resubscribe as described in #1 or #3 above.

6. To send a message to meteorobs (which will automatically be included in the
      next meteorobs-digest as well):

Address your message to meteorobs@latradedot com, remembering to follow the
      following GENERAL RULES:

7. To return an index of files you can "get" meteorobs or meteorobs-digest:

Send either of these single-line commands to majordomo@latradedot com:

Note that the latter command can be used to list ALL PREVIOUS DIGESTS of

8. To get a file related to meteorobs or meteorobs-digest:
[In the commands given below, replace <filename> with the file's name

Send either of these single-line messages to majordomo@latradedot com:

          get meteorobs <filename>, or
          get meteorobs-digest <filename>.

Note that the latter command can be used to access ALL PREVIOUS DIGESTS

you have had to be unsubscribed for a while.

Add the following single-line command following any of the above
      single-line or single-word commands:

15. Obtaining help with meteorobs or meteorobs-digest submission or receipt
