With such a system you can - in principle - find the time a meteor
occured, even if you did not see it visually. You either need to
know the start and end of the unguided exposure, or the meteor's
position in altitude & azimuth from the unguided exposure.
Of course, you need to spend some time with your calculator,
so I shall not say that this possibility is very practical.
