(meteorobs) Nov. 16/17 Leonids - West Virginia

It was beautifully clear on Sunday morning for observing the Leonid max.
from Mathias, West Virginia. In all 4.00 TeFF 156 Leonids were seen. The
best hour, from 7:55 - 8:55 UT netted 49 Leonids! Several bolides were seen.
Two of -4, and five of -3 magnitude! Also, one -2, and 10 -1 magnitude was
seen. Very impressive. It was cold camping in the tent in the snow, but
worth it. It was the best Leonids that I have ever seen! Below is a rough
breakdown of what I saw. Many sporadics were seen, and a possible active
radiant near Zeta Gem was also seen.

05:55 - 06:55 UT 6.3 31 LEO 2 STA 0 NTA 15 SPO
06:55 - 07:55 UT 6.4 35 LEO 1 STA 0 NTA 18 SPO
07:55 - 08:55 UT 6.4 49 LEO 1 STA 0 NTA 21 SPO
08:55 - 09:55 UT 6.1 41 LEO 1 STA 0 NTA 8 SPO

Notes: One -4 bolide seen below Sirius had a 7 minute 20 second train!
The other -4 bolide, just above the bowl of the Big Dipper had
       a 2 minute 30 second train!
A possible active radint near Zeta Gem was noticed.
