I don't know how much detail one might expect in a still image of a 
dynamic object like a meteor, but William McLaughlin has one that blows 
my mind:

I was there, and the Perseids were kicking, so maybe it's not so 
improbable that he caught one on his ST-5.  Not much detail that I can 
see, and I still don't know how anyone could describe it as a "steak" :).
