(meteorobs) Hale/Bopp obser Feb 10 ZAYGE

Feb 10, 1997

This mornings observation of Hale/Bopp again was from my home in La Mesa,
Calif. With about a 4.5 Sky Limiting magnitude and using my 14X100
binoculars, I can still only see about a 1.7 degree tail...no doubt it's
longer under darker skies. As for my estimate of it's magnitude...using Gamma
Cygni, I give it a magnitude range of 1.7 to 1.9. It's suppose to cloud up
by tomorrow morning, but my next observation at my observatory has a
forecast of clear skies. Hopefully I will have a decent look and perhaps a
photo effort as well.
