Re: (meteorobs) Cyrillids

I began a subscription to Sky & Telescope in Oct 1960 as a benefit to
joining the local astronomy society in Miami. A few months later, Feb 1961
plus or minus a month, there was an article entitled "Tektites and the
Cyrillid Shower." All I can remember is this shower was a meteor and
fireball procession lasting a couple of minutes passing over the New England
states heading out to sea. It was Feb 1913.

The long slow meteors Jim described, orange and coming from the west, are
still around. I see a couple of these each year, but most seem like
reentries and cover about 30 degrees in 3 or 4 seconds.
