	Not sure what you mean by comet showers.
Do you mean meteor showers?
If so there are several dozen that occur at specific times of the 
year...and in fact two of them are derived from the dust of one comet, the 
famous Halley's comet, about 6 months apart. There is also a background 
supply of meteors called sporadics that appear to come from random points 
in the sky, as opposed to the shower meteors which appear to radiate from a 
point in the sky. In actual fact the sporadics are not entirely random, but 
rates from any one radiant are so low as to be visually not identifiable 
without much data.
