(meteorobs) Skipping Rocks

I was just wondering how many other people on this list have seen a
meteor just as it was beginning to slowly skip off the atmosphere.
Watching this very short, relatively faint, recurring trail slowly
bouncing its way across the sky kind of puts things in perspective.
Forget the bright streaks that last less than a second. To see
something actually bounce off the atmosphere is far more interesting, in
my opinion. Of course, the grand-daddy of interesting meteors has to be
bolides. As you watch, you suddenly see this fast, streaking object
coming in hard, then you see it explode into several smaller objects,
which continue just as fast in directions. All of this happens so fast
and so "jerky", that it seems surreal. Bolides are definitely cool.
