(meteorobs) solar eclipse

OK The small solar eclipse has just ended here in Noumea

About 100 people and local medias have observed the eclipse with much
information provided by members of our society.

At maximum stage, the Sun was only 14 percent eclipsed.

The sky was cloudy earlier in the morning but it get better for the eclipse
and now we enjoy a beautiful blue sky.
Obseervations were made with dark X-ray radiographs (remember to always
have a doctor or a nurse in your astro society), welding masks, special
glasses for astro magazines and projection from a 115mm telescope.

I have I will be able to publish some pictures on the web very soon. They
are now at the lab ...

Now waiting for August 22, 1998 (79 percent in Noumea and annular in
Vanuatu - we will be there, it is 700 Km and only 1 hour by plane from
Noumea)
