(meteorobs) Aries-Triangulids Alert

This is just a reminder to meteor observers to be on the look-out for
the Aries-Triangulid meteors this week. Last year rates were low or absent,
and if Kronk and Currie are right about it being periodic, it may be low or
absent again this year. However, too little is known about this stream to
say for certain.

As Gary Kronk mentioned last year, there are many interesting historical
reports of meteors from this minor shower, which seems to have two branches,
one near alpha Triangulii, and another about 10 degrees south near gamma Ari-
etis. The Moon will be four days from Full, but a dark sky window should open
a few hours before dawn on the morning of the 12th. Please post any reports
positive or negative here.
