(meteorobs) Observations Sept 29/30 ZAYGE

Well...did another nite of meteor observing last night. It almost became a
nite sleeping out in the open. I don't use an alarm clock...usually just
wake up when I want to get up...haven't used an alarm clock in over 20
years....usually have a pretty good sense what time it is and wake up near
that time. Anyhow, I woke up an hour later than I wanted to, so I started my
observations at about 11:45 pm. under clear 6.1 skies. The sky was very dark.
The fog layer must have been quite dense over San Diego, because it was dark
even to the west over the city...seldom see this. Like the previous nite, I
started the evening with some minor work on the observatory before starting
my evening nap. Meteor activity seemed a little slower than the previous
nite. I only plotted 45 meteors this morning with a Teff near 4.5
hours....stopping at 5:30 am. The brightest meteor was a -1 somethingnid.
Still haven't looked to see where the radiants are though I have some
suspicions. Will have to figure that out and the shower breakdown when I do
my reports later this week. Later!
