Mark>>Sure it does! Are you not in favor of IMO? Are you not in favor of
standardized methods? If you are, then we should now be in agreement that
making LM estimates with the "standard" charts of IMO is the way to go. How
is this "screwed up?" <<

The thread of this topic has been about the LM charts on the NAMN website as
showing too small of a sky area to adequately figure where the star count
areas are in the real sky. Yes I'm in favor of IMO. Yes I favor standardized
methods. Making LM estimates with the "standard" charts of IMO is not the
complaint. What is screwed up is that an observer is going to have a very
difficult time in figuring out what they are looking at if they go by what is
presented on the NAMN website due to the use of very small portions of the
sky shown. It would be like trying to figure out which line you are on while
reading a book with a pair of binoculars.

Mark>>The point I was trying to make in my last message was that we are using
IMO
charts. Whether or not they meet your expectations is really beyond my
control.<<

The IMO charts meet my expectations..dot it's the too small portions of the
charts used on the NAMN website that don't.

 Mark>>
If the staff of IMO is able to create new ones that are an improvement, I
will again seek their permission to use them. I am sorry that I can't solve
this for you. But I would again suggest you contact IMO for more
information.<<

I highly doubt that IMO would deny permission to use portions of their star
charts for this purpose. Earlier today I emailed a sample star chart to this
list for those computer gifted ones to play with and see if they can be used
to insert into a website. Apparently it hasn't made its way thru the maze
yet? Wouldn't it be better if the NAMN coordinator contacted IMO in regards
to having better portions of their charts for LM determinations added to
NAMN's website?
