(meteorobs) Self-introduction...

Greetings!! My name is Marcia and have been a sky-watcher since a wee-babe!
I love just staring up there on a beautiful clear night. More often then not
I am blessed with a "shooting star" sighting. :-) Anyways, thanx for all the
info. I always like to know what's up before the show.

I would like to share an experience I had a couple of years ago, if you don'e
mind. It has intrigued me ever since.

It was about 9-10 pm in I believe mid July, possibly early August of 1996. I
was in my back yard when I saw a HUGE Ball going from west to east what looked
like just above the tree tops however was much higher I am sure. It moved
very slowly across the sky and had a trail as well. I watched until it
disapeared but did not land!

I asked my husband what he thought it could be and he said maybe space junk.
It was a HUGE Ball like a Boulder shape so that didn't make sense to me. I
thought it may have been a meteor that grazed the atmosphere. What ever it
was, it sure made me smile.

Can you tell me what it was? Thank you. mh.
