Re: (meteorobs) Observations July 29/30

In a message dated 98-07-30 09:13:09 EDT, you write:

Aquarids. I have some meteors that could be classed as this, but
  uncertain of the speed.<<

of my book. The various shower speeds is listed on page 68.

I just want to add that a meteor with an entry velocity of 42 km/s will appear
relatively Fast. Not as fast looking as the Perseids, but still somewhat fast.
If a meteor looks somewhat fast and it aligns itself with the current position
of the N. Delta Aquarid radiant only, then I would most likely call it a N.
Delta Aquarid. Sometimes though a meteor will line up with both the N. delta
Aquarid radiant and the S. Delta Aquarid radiant. You will have to make a
decision and chose one of them. In these cases where from all appearances a
meteor could belong to either, I chose the most active radiant of the two for
that date. Sometimes if I feel a certain twitch in my right big toe it's a S.
delta. A twitch in my left big toe it becomes a N. delta. :o)
