Hi Lew and all member of the list!

Here is a summary of my observations during the last two nights :
-August 11/12th 1998 in Sainte-Foy (suburb of Quebec city)-

Had a clear night on the morning of the 12th starting at 06:00 until 08:30 UT. So
I got 2 hours 30 min. = 2.50 of teff
between some periods of clouds but the sky was generally very clear. I observed in
the backyard of my house in Sainte-Foy a suburb of Quebec city.

LM was about 4.3, and near 25 % to 30 % of my field was obstructed by trees.

I saw only 9 Perseids and one sporadic.

06:05 to 07:04 U.T.
5 Perseids and 1 Sporadic

07:05 to 08:00 U.T.
2 Perseids

08:01 to 08:33 U.T.
2 Perseids

-August 12/13th 1998 Observatory of Mount Cosmos in Saint Elzear (Province of
                                  Quebec) Canada-

LM was 7.0 before moon rise and no obstruction to my field of view.

01:00 to 03:33 U.T.
Only very small portion of the sky was clear, it was mostly cloudy but I did
manage to see 5 Perseids and 1 Sporadic.
It was for me an indication that the rate of Pers. was good. Nearly 100 persons
was at the ground at the observatory to
observe the meteor shower. Unfortunately for them the sky was mostly cloudy and it
did clear when the majority of people left.

Starting at 11:30 EDT the sky started to clear very nicely to give the way to a
perfert sky but with limiting magnitude of near 6.0 with the moon in the sky.

03:35 to 04:35 U.T.
17 Perseids 3 Sporadics

04:50 to 5:50 U.T.
11 Perseids 1 Sporadics and 2 Kappa Cygnids

05:56 to 06:08 U.T.
3 Perseids 1 Sppradics

Unfortunaltely at 06:15 I had to quit the observatory and return home.
In the backyard of my home I continued my observation between 07:15 and and 08:30
                                       U.T.
The sky was clear with a LM of about 4.4
07:15 to 08:15
10 Perseids 1 Sporadic

08:16 to 08:30
2 Perseids

Now must go to sleep and I plan to oberve a few hours tonight if the sky stay
clear.
