When I get haze or thin cirrus clouds, etc... I do the same thing: LM 
estimates
over different areas of my field. I'll star count my triangles as often 
as the
sky appears to change. However, if the sky changes so much that I find 
myself
only star counting and NOT meteor observing, I will call a break. I'll 
sign on
only when things improve again.

Lew, with this approach (the LM counts), do you ignore completely sky 
obstructions on your reports? For me, I leave that part alone but I'll 
have a
note giving the reason why my LM suddenly went down.
