Also, one needs to be quite careful when observing during moonlight. If 
you
turn and accidentaly look at the moon, your night vision will go down. 
Your 
limiting magnitude will be much lower for the next half hour, often 
without
even realizing it. This is one reason why I also prefer to plan my 
observations away from the moon unless a major shower is predicted. When 
observing with moonlight or any local light pollution, best thing to do 
is 
to find some kind of shield (fence, trees, car or a big umbrella,...). My 
new backyard (still east of Ottawa, ON) looks acceptable to observe 
except 
for a bright streetlight a bit further from a gaz station. I can get 
around 
this by throwing an old blanket over the fence to hide the glaring thing.
