(meteorobs) -6 fireball on Sept 18/19

Hello,

Just coming back in from a very successful 4 hours teff observation.
I dont yet have my observation decoded, as with my other 2 other
nights for mid-september, but I think it is worthwhile to report
last night's fireball. It is certainly the finest meteor I have
seen so far this year.

At 7:25 UT (3:25 local edt), the meteor was sighted already in motion
and brightening just north of Polaris. It moved slowly, heading toward
east. Its path, when I saw it was 40deg long and lasted a full 4 seconds.
The meteor produced 3 bursts. The second burst left behind train
and a few small pieces of fragmentation. It continued some more
distance, then the final burst of magnitude -6 appeared.
I called it SPO for know, but my plot indicate that a Kappa
Aquarid cannot be ruled out. It was far but appears to come from
the Water Jar in Aquarius? It looked too slow to be a Piscid,
especially considering how far it was from that radiant.

I'll report back soon once I get the data decoded, and have more
details. Fireball will be reported to FIDAC.
