(meteorobs) Digital 8 Video Cameras

Hi Robert,
+AD4-
+AD4APg- Do Not use Digital 8
+AD4APg- It has on digital rec mode a to high speed
+AD4APg- so the Hi8 tapes film gets dropouts and you camara heads are
+AD4APg- further more the o-lux is a fake the camera has a ir led build in that
+AD4APg- luminates
+AD4APg- to 1,5 meters
+AD4-
+AD4-it seems that you have tested already these new 'ultra-sensitive' cameras.
+AD4-Can't you tell me, please, a little more about your experiences with them?
+AD4-I'm often asked about them. My guess was that they are not suitable, but I
+AD4-never did the tests myself.
+AD4-
+AD4-Cheers, Sirko

Hi Sirko
As you might now I can test every video system, as this I my job
for the last 15 years (fotonicus and video sales)

But regardless to this digital 8 is a system whit the same video heads
As hi 8
The only different is that if you want to record on a digital signal
The rotating speeds of the tape transport go up 1,5 times and the
the rotating heads speed go up 4 x
The normal hi8mm tape coatings that are used will have to coat whit this
high speeds
And there fore dropouts occur
Sony reply ??? -use the cleaning tape that is included in whit every digital
8 camera-

The 0lux in every Grundig (clone) or Sony is made up from Night vision IR
The IR led luminates surroundings to 1,5 meters and you can get a IR lamp
optional to go up to
4meters
They use the normal IR sensitivity of that every CCD camera has to make a IR
picture and
Correct the auto focus for long wave light

Keep your eyes on Mini DV or Full DV and 1,4 or 1,2 optics
Not on lux this is always a theoretical and commercial value
