(meteorobs) Observation Aug 15/16 1999
On Sunday August 15/16, I went to Wendover (east of Ottawa) to join a
friend there for some observing. I signed on for over one hour teff
just after midnight. Under clear dark magnitude 6.4 to 6.5 skies, I
recorded 20 meteors (6 Perseids, 2 N.Iota Aquarids and others were
sporadics). Perseids already seem below the sporadics background. Not
much bright meteors as nothing got any better than magnitude +2.
About halfway through, my one year old lawn chair finally gave up.
There was a sudden "SNAP", and I painfully jolted backwards to the
ground :(( They sure don't make those as strong anymore. Fortunately
there was an extra chair around :)
Full reports and plots to be sent at NAMN.
