I think the Geminids are worth a little sleep deprivation. If your parents
consent to giving you the day off school, speak to your teachers about
writing up a report to submit in exchange for an excused absense. Most
schools will allow you the excused absense for a scientific venture. When I
was still teaching I would often give excused absenses to students who took
trips or needed a day off for a special occassion....I would only ask for a
report of some nature. Most teachers you'll find will be understanding and
encouraging. However, any work you miss will need to be made up promptly,
