    That's one reason why we need CONFIRMED observations made
simultaneously at widely-separated locations.  That was the
key to our success with the Leonids, 6 confirmed simultaneous
flashes.  Cosmic rays are a real problem with space-based 
sensors, but are less frequent at the bottom of our
atmosphere.
