Subject: [IMO-News] Summary of Geminids Observations (13-14) From Malta

Hi,

Two teams of observers braved the cold winds , and were rewarded with a
show from the twin chaps up in the skies above.

One team was stationed in Mnajdra (limits of Qrendi) while another team
went up far north to Ahrax Tal Mellieha. This was done for the purpose of
triangulation (the results will be communicated at a later stage).

The weather was generally clear with small patches of stray clouds at long
intervals. The Geminids were quite spectacular ; slow moving , bright and
frequent , that managed to keep the observers wide awake (in most of the
cases ) after the disastrous Leonids's weather they seemed to be the
consolation prize !

Here is a summary of the reports showing starting and end times and
calculated ZHR's (for GEMINIDS ONLY) . Detailed reports have been sent to
visuals@IMO
