(meteorobs) Re: Meteor/meteorite reference books, etc.

Another useful reference book about meteors and meteorites is, "The Moon
Meteorites and Comets - edited by B. M. Middlehurst and G. P. Kuiper",
Volume IV of the series, The Solar System. This was published by the
University of Chicago Press in 1963. Library of Congress Catalog Number
62-18117.
The section on "Meteors", Chapter 21. is by Peter M. Millman and D.W.R.
McKinley. Other very interesting papers include, E.L. Krinov's chapter,
"Meteorite Craters on the Earth's Surface" and "Tunguska and Sikhote-Alin
Meteorites". Also, "Fossil Meteorite Caters" by C.S. Beals,, M.J.S. Innes
and J.A. Rottenberg, and "Impact Mechanics at Meteor Crater, Arizona", by
Eugene Shoemaker.
A good basic reference for beginners is, "Observing Comets, Asteroids,
Meteors, and the Zodiacal Light", by Stephen J. Edberg and Davad H. Levy.
This was published by the Cambridge University Press in 1994.
